Dr. Paul G. Sims, DDS, has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in Butte, Montana since May 1980. He completed his BS and DDS from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Then he finished his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and his General Anesthesia training for two years at the same university.
After serving two years in the US Air Force, Dr. Sims remained in Kansas City where practiced and taught for three years. The Sims family eventually moved to Butte, Montana, and have happily lived here ever since.
Dr. Sims was actively involved in various committees, chaired them, presided over the Board of Directors, and served as the Chief of Surgery at St James Hospital. He has been awarded several local, state, and national awards for his exceptional service to his patients and the profession. He is a renowned dental educator, speaking at seminars worldwide, and he can often be found as a student himself learning from other experts in the field.
In 2017, Dr. Sims retired but soon found himself missing patient care. He started working with his daughter, Dr. Katherine Slocum DDS, in Anaconda, Montana, before joining Montana Oral Surgery and Dental Implants Center in Butte.
Dr. Sims is an expert in numerous fields and is well-regarded for his multi-talented abilities. He has a passion for growing stunning dahlias and creating exquisite woodworking projects, such as his carefully crafted cutting boards, which are made from hand-selected pieces of wood. He offers excellence in the kitchen as he bakes up sweet treats that he shares with his family, friends, and the team at the office.
