Helena Dental Implant Study Club Schedule
January 2011 - June 2011

Space is limited to 10 participants so please call Jenni at (406) 437-1807 soon to reserve your seat.  Meetings will be held on Thursdays at 6:00 pm at Dr. Fleischmann’s office, 65 Medical Park Drive. Click here for directions. 

Each lecture will be approximately two hours and will qualify as two Continuing Education credits for you.  Attendance and CE are free of charge.  Refreshments will be provided. 

Our goal is to provide a forum where we can expand our collective fund of knowledge.  In accord, we can effectively provide the highest quality care for our patients.  Please join us.

Cone Beam Computerized Tomography: Everything You’ve Wanted to Know but Were Afraid to Ask  Dr. Fleischmann will explain the science and technology related to Cone Beam CT Radiography and its specific application to dentistry including implant treatment, TMJ treatment, and surgery involving the removal of impacted teeth.

A Paradigm Shift in Implant Dentistry: Contemporary Concepts in Tooth Replacement  The principle focus of implant dentistry has changed significantly from the era of “Anatomically driven implant placement” to the current practice of “Restoration driven implant placement.”  Daryl Galbavy will be on hand and in a separate lecture he will review the steps involved in the restorative process for both the standard plus and bone level implants.

Full Arch Reconstruction with Dental Implants: techniques, the clinical trials, the cost and the latest trends.  We will also discuss the Nobel Biocare All-on-4 technique.  The All-on-4 treatment concept was developed to provide edentulous patients with an efficient and effective restoration using only four implants to support an immediately loaded full-arch prosthesis.

Effective Comprehensive Treatment Planning and Consultation for Restorative & Implant Dentistry: We will discuss how to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for implant surgery to optimize the restorative phase.  Develop a predictable and repeatable sequence of events to effect the most positive and predictable outcome.  We will discuss the important surgical and restorative parameters that we need to evaluate during the consultation phase.  We will highlight the most important of esthetic and functional concerns and how this correlates to surgical and restorative success.

Bone Grafting: From Autografts to Xenografts; This lecture will focus on what the clinician should consider when choosing a grafting material to preserve an extraction site.  We will touch on advanced grafting techniques as well as the relevant head and neck anatomy.

Wisdom Teeth: We will discuss the latest in clinical and scientific studies as to the current rationale for the treatment of wisdom teeth.  I will review the variability in techniques involved in 3rd molar surgery.  We will discuss relevant anatomy and its implications to 3rd molar surgery.  We will cover instrumentation, surgical techniques and alternatives to wisdom tooth surgery.
