The following are important instructions to review and adhere to prior to surgery.

• Please speak with Dr. Fleischmann about any daily medications you may be on for special instruction.
• Take all your regular medication unless instructed otherwise.
• Any change in health prior to the procedure needs to be reported to our office. A cold, fever, or other ailments may require your appointment to be rescheduled.
• On the day of the surgery, please wear loose fitting clothing and low-heeled shoes. Sleeves need to be able to be rolled up you’re your elbows.
• Please refrain from wearing lipstick, makeup or nail polish on the day of the surgery.
• All jewelry (especially tongue and lip rings), contact lenses, and dentures must be removed prior to surgery.
• Minor children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.
• If your procedure requires only local anesthesia, you may eat and drink as usual.
• If your procedure requires only local anesthesia, you will be able to drive yourself to and from the appointment without help.
• If your procedure requires sedation, do not eat or drink (including water, coffee and soda) for six (6) hours prior to the appointment.
• If your procedure requires sedation, you may not drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours afterward. We also strongly recommend that you put off important matters during that time period.
